Melanie and Scott
We all
woke up at 6am. We were very tired still due to daylight savings starting. We
went down to the dining room for a quick coffee because we were due at the
hairdressers at 7am. I was attended to first with my Bridal Party following -
some of them were ready by 9am, we were all finished by ten. The make-up artist
Karen arrived at my room at 10am to do our make-up. From this point on Mrs
Nomes started filming the day.
After we had finished our make-up the photographer Ang arrived. She took photos
of the girls getting ready. My Mother helped me into my dress, which had some
buttons which proved hard to do up but Mrs Nomes helped out - I was now looking
the part of a blushing Bride. My Mother and I and the Bridal Party then had
more photos taken. We then decided to have a bite to eat, Mrs Nomes had already
organised a huge platter of sandwiches to be sent up to my room. How sweet of
her....
My family members started to arrive around 1.30pm so we had more photos taken
together.
The weather was quite unpleasant outside, windy and quite cool. I was hoping it
was going to pass but alas - it was not meant to be. I was overjoyed so the
weather was of no consequence to me.
The time had finally come for me to head down stairs to the ceremony area to
wed the man of my dreams. My two Bridesmaids walked down the aisle first, then
my MOH. This is when I started to get nervous. I am not accustomed to having so
much attention and nothing prepares you for walking down the aisle. But it
didn't matter - my Father took me by the arm, and lead me down to Scott. I
walked towards my future husband... Enya's "Only Time". Once I
reached Scott I could see completely how handsome he was in his suit. The whole
Bridal Party looked amazing, the Bestman and Groomsmen scrubbed up so well.
We managed to get through our Vows and signing of the register without any
glitches (phew!), at which point we were declared Husband & Wife!
We went into the foyer of the hotel to have more photo's taken with family
& friends (due to the wind outside) it was a lot of fun and I am delighted
with the photos.
At 6pm we entered the Reception, this is when it set in - I was a married woman
now! Speeches were made by my MOH & her daughter, Scott and I were touched
by what they said.
Then the entree of soup was served - it was delicious.
The speeches made by my two Fathers were wonderful and lucky for me there were
no embarrassing stories told! The best man & Scott's speech were a laugh -
we had to remind them who to thank - men! My sister also made a touching speech
about how much she loved me. I think she may of had a little too much wine but
it was lovely all the same
The main meal was served and it was delicious...
Scott & I danced the Bridal Waltz to Lone Star's "Amazing". I
then danced two Father/Daughter dances - I am a very lucky Bride indeed.
Everyone had a wonderful time, they danced the night away and helped Scott
& I celebrate our union.
We were the last ones to leave our reception and once we got back to our room
all of our wedding gifts and cards were waiting for us - it was so exciting
opening them all.
So here we are now a married couple. It was worth all of the planning. I only
wish I could do it all again because the day goes so fast - blink and you might
miss it.
We had the best day of our lives so far and I would like to thank our Families
especially our Sons, our Bridal Party, our friends, especially Mrs Nomes and
our guests - Thank you for making our special day magical. We love you all.
I would like to thank the wedding vendors that made our day possible.
