Abby and Ty - 11th November 2006

My name is Abby (24) and I married my lovely husband Ty (26) on the 11/11/2006. We were married 5 years to the date from when we met on Remembrance Day at the Look Out Pub.

In the morning I woke up to a very overcast day. Unfortunately it did rain, well actually it poured down while we were in the Car on the way to the ceremony.

My bridesmaid was in tears and upset that it was raining, I kept telling her it was good luck. Luckily when we pulled up, the sun came out just in time for us to leave the car! It ended up being really beautiful!

Our ceremony was held overlooking Kings Park at the wishing well. This was also where we were engaged! It was perfect!

I was so worried I would cry while I walked down the aisle and ruin my false eyelashes, but I held it together and the ceremony was like a dream. During the ceremony my husband could not wipe the smile off his face, it was so sweet and our guests were gobsmacked at how beautiful it was.

My beautiful bridesmaids were my sister in-law, my best friend and my cousin. My husband’s groomsmen were my two brothers and his brother. It was lovely being surrounded by family and friends.

After the beautiful ceremony we had our photos taken around Kings Park, UWA and the river front foreshore. It was stunning!

We held our reception at The Moon Reception Centre in Woodvale, it was fantastic! The service was great and the food was divine! The room looked stunning and my cake was so beautiful.

The best thing about the reception was that our guests were having such a wonderful time, they stayed till well after 12am dancing their hearts out.

Our first dance as husband and wife was to Elvis’ “I can’t help falling in love”.  It was a very emotional moment. We both love looking back at our wedding video and, it was just fantastic we laughed and cried so much. We were both so proud of our dance, it went really well.

Everyone who came kept telling us it was the best wedding they had been to. So full of love and happiness and I couldn’t agree more!
