Big Grin My Day

Hello everyone,
I am now back from my lovely and long three week honeymoon and am glad to be sharing my wedding day story with you all.
Woke up the morning of the wedding not feeling anything but excitement about getting involved with everything. I started the morning off by heading to the place we were having the reception to set up the tables and decorations, which I had made myself. Once I arrived there I noticed a beautiful black and white bridal backdrop that I knew I hadn't paid for (as we did not have the money) I then found out that my amazing best friend and her boyfriend had organised it and made it for me the night before. We then continued with the centrepiece decorations and placed the disposable cameras and gifts on the tables. Once this was finished myself and three beautiful bridesmaids headed to my mum's house for the day of make up and hair we had planned. The day went by so quickly and before I knew it my hair and make up was done and it was ready to get in my dress as my dad and the photographer showed up while I was still in my trackies and hoodie with a can in my hand :)
I quickly got ready and had photos around the house. I then jumped into the car with my Dad and sister and the amazing driver had a CD of my favourite band playing as I got in and all the way to the ceremony knowing if I was nervous it would relax me.
As we drove into the gardens where the wedding was being held I saw a sign with two other people's names on it and saying that their wedding was there... this was probably the most stressful part of the day and I stressed that there had been a double up.
Luckily my amazing now husband had everything well organised and there was no double up. Once I started walking towards the garden area and saw all the people standing around waiting my stomach started doing a couple of summersaults but my dad pulled me along. As I nearly got to the aisle (luckily still hidden by trees) my garter fell down to my ankle and myself and bridesmaids laughed as my dad had to bend down and snatch it from me.
We then saw the sign to go (as we could not hear the music where we were) and my three amazing new nieces one aged 4 and the other two nearly 3 walked down first and were beautiful flower girls, my three bridesmaids then followed all wearing black dresses but in different styles as I wanted them to choose what they felt comfortable in. It was then my turn and I felt nervous with all the people watching me... luckily my dad kept squezing my hand and reassuring me it was ok. I then saw my new husband looking at me smiling and felt better.
The ceremony went through beautifully and without a hitch... although some people considered it a pain when I was saying my vowels right at the end about 40 cockatoos flew over the gardens and made so much noise that we couldn't hear anything but... my mum considers that mother nature agreeing with the wedding lol it really made it different.
After the ceremony I then shocked everyone by lifting up the bottom of my dress and revealing my black runners and thigh high stripy multi coloured socks... after that they became the highlight of the day and people did not stop asking to see them... no one could believe that I would actually do it but I am very happy that I had apart of myself in the day.
The reception was the best (I know it's because it was my wedding) but everyone had fun, ate good food, danced and just had a blast.
The wedding was not formal at all... we had a banquet BBQ that was self serve (as I am very picky with my food) and a triangle cake with mini donuts although it didn't really look like a triangle but more of a blob... lol it was fantastic.
The speechs were lovely and myself and husband managed to mingle well with everyone.
It kinda sucks now cause the day and night went by so quickly I just want to be able to do it again :)
As soon as I get photos (as I have only just got back home) I will put them up for you all to see but I just wanted to share my story :)
Thanks for reading!!!!!!
