Flower quote - am I completely crazy?

Okay, hopefully I won’t get flamed for this or anything (as I did when I posted something similar on ‘another site’ lol)
We have found this fantastic florist, and her prices are actually incredibly reasonable, when you break them down, ie $36 for table setting comprising 4 vases of flowers (vase hire included) But the entire quote comes to around $2400. Now, this is within my budget with no dramas, but am I mad to be considering going ahead with this amount for flowers?

I know flowers are something that will eventually die, but I have always dreamed of being completely surrounded by luscious flowers at my wedding. And when I started going through the quote to eliminate items, there was nothing I wanted to cut! For example, we planned on having 5 pommander balls (big balls made of flowers and ribbon) hanging from the ceiling of the marquee, and they are $85 each, which is good for so many flowers, but totals over $400!

I am fine with paying this price, and am pretty sure I will go ahead and confirm the quote this week, but am I being totally insane? Thanks in advance for the input!

Hey Catherine, :)
Ok...I will start off by saying that i would in no way pay that much for flowers...BUT it doesnt fit our budget....But i can't imagine anything more beautiful than to be surrounded by luscious flowers. I love flowers!! And if i had the money, than by no means would i care to spend that much on flowers.

It is in your quote, and reasonable to you, so go for it. If you are happy, than why not get it because of what OTHER people think??

Thanks hun!
My mum actually said the same thing to me – when I lamented to her that the quote was $2000, and I had imagined paying around $1500-$1800, she immediately said, oh we can help you out with the additional if you need. Which was so sweet of her, but I thanked her and explained it wasn’t so much about the amount, but whether I could justify spending it. Then I decided to cut back the quote – THEN I kept thinking about how I would regret not going with it, as I only get one wedding day! :)

Sorry but to me that is an awesome price! I paid almost $3000 for flowers.

I think if you can afford it, go for it! Flowers were super important to me and I chose pretty expensive flowers - Orchids, blushing brides etc. So I was willing to pay the money.

Why would you get flamed if you can afford it, go for it!

BTW what flowers have you decided on?? hehe I love love love flowers!!

it is your wedding day. it is going to be special and if having loads of flowers will make u feel more special, then go for it, yes flowers dont last forever, but the memory of how happy u were/are will.
if its in ur budget and it will make the day more special. go for it.
you will regret it if u dont.
