But we don't like the location of it or the entrance, the stairs are also a tad steep for the oldies, spesh when leaving after having a few. There's graffitti out the front and lets face it, the neighbourhood isn't exactly one of the nicer ones in Sydney...
I know what you mean Widget, I also went and had a look at them and that was one of the reasons that put us both off....It just isn't in the best area and it doesn't look the best for all the guests as they arrive. Also not sure if you know this, I only do cause I went to church in that building a few years ago. But the car park isn't all that safe at night too. So I would be very careful about that too. Thats why again we ended up out at Richmond. Its nice and clean and the surrounding area is perfect for photos.
Hope you find something soon

I know, it's why we weren't going to have a look... But financially, where else can I get that kind of deal?? Think I may be lucky if I can get everything else for $2700 as it is. I am so lost with everything that we'll need. I basically know we need clothing, ceremony, reception, flowers, cars, cake, invites... I'm basically flying blind!! I've been to a few weddings, but have never paid attention!! AND you have to factor in the honeymoon with the budget too - we're doing a registry for that so it shouldn't be too bad, but then there's passports as well...

Was also thinking, it's kinda central to all who live in Syd and if they choose to not drink and drive, it's not too far from the station either. Was thinking that might be alright seeing as they'll be in groups...

I mentioned to Mum we were thinking about Bellhaven Manor in Wenty (which I found out yesterday from their brochure is in station street so now I'm not sure) and she gave it the thumbs down straight away - as I said, since my Aunt got married, it could have changed heaps in 20 years!! She just said, the same guys owns it - doesn't mean someone new isn't running it though... I don't have my piece of paper with me but I know I have to factor in wedding night accomodation, cars, photography and everything else on top of the $7000, for Bellhaven I get almost the same as Oasis, but a few differences and my ceremony is included...

I went to my cousins wedding 2 yrs ago at Bellhaven manor. Its gorgeous. Its run by the same people who own Cropley house, so that might give you some idea. It is beautiful though and is nice for a small wedding. We were down stairs and it was a bit squishy, but still lovely. We were all looked after and the bride and groom make a grand entrance down the staircase. Only real problem there is that there isn't alot of parking for guests. They need to park out in the street and on a Saturday night, thats a bit hard. We had a bit of a hike to get to the reception, but other than that it was good.
I guess you really need to weigh up what you want out of a package. I wrote myself a list on the things I wanted and wouldn't budge on and then we went from there. Like you said you are getting so much for that price and if you are happy with it then go for it.

Oh, I received an info pack on Chapel Hill yesterday as well... My date has been taken, as have most days in September next year!!!

We have an appointment to enquire properly on Sunday and who knows, we might end up changing the date. She has 2 dates in October left but seeing as we won't be able to get the $500 deposit until at least November, we might have to move it back even further just to get the location...

But, in saying that, we might turn up on Sunday and not like it all that much...

I even looked at doing a Friday wedding there instead, would save me almost a grand by changing day, but everywhere else I did the comparison, the saving was minimal...

But yeah, I think I'll go with those Frangipanis, they'll go well with the colour we're thinking of... Just trying to find BM dresses for my BM shapes, the ones we like (them included) aren't really suited to their shape...
