Catherine, thanks for posting the photos of your DD. Her hair looks very similar to mine in length, texture and colour. I even have a fringe. What she had done with her hair is pretty much what I want done. Now I at least know to phone up and ask about the GHD:)

GoneCountry, I'm pretty sure she's talking about the hot rollers and then that weird contraption that looks like a big helmet. She said she felt really hot under it.

OMG I love my GHD. My hairdresser used one to curl my hair and it didn't take that long 30 minutes maybe.

I am yet to perfect the GHD curl myself tho. I even watched the dvd on how to do it.

Oh..the old fashioned hot roller thingo, the thing they use with perms and stuff! I've blocked that part of my memory out, sorry! I'm not even allowed under those things, had a perm once, i have fine fragile hair, it went fuzzy, then the hairs started snapping off at the base! oh, the humanity!!! got my hair back now, but was a horrid lesson to learn!!!

yeah, any hairdresser worth her/his salt has a GHD! they are amazing! I tried a cheap imitation, no where near as good! its on my wish list now...along with a Wiifit! :)

yes fh bought me my GHD for my wedding pres (only coz i demanded it!) he also got it engraved with our wedding date!!!

GO THE GHD'S im getting one! i curl my hair a fair bit and only take roughly half hour think it depends if you have done it before!
