Hmmm this is my first vent about FMIL
Now this isn't a very big issue but I did get a bit upset last night when FH told me......
It all started with me telling FH that I am thinking of not having kids at the wedding again and then he said 'Oh Mum thinks you shouldn't have the reception so far away' I then went a bit crazy and said 'I don't care, it's not her wedding and it is only a 25 minute drive from city its not like it is an hour away' Then FH said 'yeah well that is what mum thinks'...........................  Anyway shouldn't have told them last weekend that we are thinking of changing reception venue. My mum on the other hand doesn't care......I think she likes the idea of having reception venue up at Hahndorf.

mil can be a bit funny, Ive had dramas with mine and now i think it all comes down to them not wanting to let go of their little boys.
dont worry hun, its ur wedding do what u 2 want. feel free to vent away.....

Aww sorry to hear that hon - 25mins is nothing - she should get a grip !!
Sometimes you realise you shouldn't have said anything - only after you say it ! MILs are funny arn't they - found out she hated one of my ideas only after I changed it to something else " oh that would have looked cheap " hellooooo I really liked the idea - just came up with something cheaper - didn't change it coz I hated it.... thankfully we didn't have any major issues or fights.. we were lucky...

Yeah I agree 25 mins is nothing - also the drive will cut out some of the waiting time while we are having photos done.

25mins is not that far at all! And Hahndorf is sooooo beautiful in spring! (Used to live in Adelaide)

Thanks Shaz. I know it was beautiful when we went there a few months ago. If there was no significance to Veale Gardens I would have the whole wedding up at Hahndorf.

Honey I live on the Fluerieu Peninsula, my family is at Golden Grove, DH's family is in Victoria, and our friends are spread from Queensland to Victor Harbour! We got married at Glenelg and had our reception at McLaren Vale and they all came! So you will be fine!
P.S. FMIL might just be stating her opinion, it might not necessarily be a criticism IYKWIM?
