interesting/unique wedding ideas

hi! im after some unique / quirky wedding ideas that you may have come across at a wedding.
Especially fun things to keep the guests entertained during the reception?
My couisn had plain cupcakes at everyones table and a box of cake decorations so everyone could decorate their own cupcake and the bride and groom chose the best one to cut as their "Wedding cake"

Any other ideas like this?

My Mood:
there are so many ways to make a wedding different - friends of mine have had a hand-fasting ceremony, another had medieval dancing at their reception, i'm wearing a medieval inspired dress in my favourite colour - it really depends on what kind of things appeal to you.

blossy I think i'm addicted to BTB!

My Mood:
I made up kids activity books for the little guests at my wedding. They had dot to dot pictures of brides and grooms, bouquets etc, a maze puzzle (along the lines of 'help the groom find the church'), and I also made word searches and crosswords with wedding words and the names of all of our guests in them.

The kids had fun, but I think my aunt and my dad were the most stoked at them, haha!

My Mood:
I think any form of different dancing, with lessons would be fun. As Ozwiccagal suggested, you could do this with medieval dancing, also Salsa or the Jive would work brilliantly. I wanted to have a may-pole at my wedding, but it isn't fitting in now... but if you were going to have a number of children at the wedding that would be really beautiful. Anything interactive but not embarrassing would be really special & different.

Zed, if you can find out the first dance song of other married couples at your wedding, you could play those throughout the night as well, might make it extra special for some (as you tend to remember your own wedding and get all ga-ga at other people's weddings).

One thing I wanted to do but didn't end up doing was having the celebrant hang around for a bit longer and do a very quick 'renewal of vows' type thing for other couples at the wedding. Just thought it might bathe the day in even more romance. All I wanted was an extra sentence or two where she asked other married couples if they would like to renew their vows, get them to stand, recite a nice verse and get them to all say "we do" in unison - hey presto, you're renewed.

Didn't end up happening because the celebrant ended up convincing me it should only be about us, but I still think it might have been nice - maybe not during our ceremony, but perhaps during drinks, or while people were waiting for mains?

That is a really lovely idea Blossy! It would definitely enhance the romance of the day, and be something that they would remember always!
