minister recommendations?

Can anyone recommend a uniting church minister who might be willing to do an outdoor wedding in lilydale? My fiancee wants a minister but comes from interstate so isn't involved with any local church. We want someone who will not preach too much and respect the fact that I am not religious.

I could reccommend a celebrant but that won't help you much...

Sometimes venues have a list of suppliers that their couples have been happy with and they may be able to reccommend one to you

A celebrant may be more appropriate?

I have seen this - however it is not encouraged (especially in the Catholic Church). It really all comes down to the individual minister or priest.

Renata, I think you will just need to ask around the various Uniting Churches and you may just find a Minister which will be accommodating.

Not so much with the catholics, but uniting church seem more easy going.

If it was all up to me I would absolutely go with a celebrant, but it's his day too after all :)

Btw forgot to mention, it is in Melbourne's outer east.

Hi Nadie, I am from Adelaide but work for the Uniting Church and the majority of weddings that we perform are for the general public. Perhaps give Lilydale Uniting a call but when I am at work this Friday I can ask around to find the name of a potential minister

Hi Nadie, Sorry for the delay in getting back to you but I spoke to my workmate who is more familiar with The Uniting Churches interstate and he recommended Ringwood Church and said that they are quite accommodating, I haven't been able to yet find out the name of the Minister but got this link
