Photos before ceremony...

Hi Girls

Just really a discussion and want to know what other people's thoughts are on this.

Would you consider having your photographs taken BEFORE the wedding ceremony, to save on time, possibly $$$ and to spend more time with your guests?
Or would you like to keep it traditional and have them after the ceremony.

There are a lot of pros and cons for both. But would love to hear what others have to say!

Nope! I wanted photos as a married couple and I would never feel the same way about them knowing we weren't married in the photos.

Trust me, your guests will wait and honestly are less important than you and your husband.

Isn't it bad luck for the groom to see the bride before the ceremony?? Or even in her dress before she walks down the aisle??

That's a reason not to do it!

I had friends discussing this on the weekend and the differences everyone had was great!

I think I would be more inclined to have the photos after the ceremony, mostly for the same reason's Jen mentioned.

Sideways Sally I think i'm addicted to BTB!

My Mood:
It's all the rage in America at the moment, I have watched several episodes of Bridezillas and who's wedding is it anyway where this has been done. Is very popular with Asians from what I have seen and other non caucasian couples (who obviously don't have the same superstitions) Also has been popular for night/evening weddings to take pictures earlier in day when light is better.

We will be having our photos earlier in the day (before the ceremony) with our bridal party and parents. We are also considering taking the bride and groom photos a few weeks before the wedding so we can make up our thank you card and send them while we are on our 5 week honeymoon as I know I won't feel like it when we get home.

I also don't want to miss out on time partying with our guests:P

I also loved the relaxing of having them after, also like Jen I was then having them with my husband.

Why can't you have photos whilst mingling with the guests after the ceremony? A photographer who specialises in candid/photojournalistic style should be able to capture some great shots. You could also incorporate a small element of traditional shots.

Exactly what I'm having! photos done during the hour of cocktail hor's deuvers, with lots of action shots, I want to capture the event as it is/was not a staged photo shoot mid wedding IYKWIM - it also suits us due to my illness to not "waste" andhour or two of my energy on a photography session. If I were better and the season warmer I would of perhaps dedicated more time to a photo shoot. Insyaing that though I am having 8 hours of photographic coverage!
