The planning process

Well I really haven't done much in planning the wedding yet. We haven't even set a date!

So far we've decided around end of Feb/start of March 2010. For many reasons, more weddings, time factors, etc.

Tonight we have both decided to sit down and have a chat about everything! What we both want from the wedding, what we MUST have, and want we don't want. Also to set out a budget and how much we think we can save in the time frame.

I've printed out a budget list, so we have a rough idea of what we can expect.

Feeling a little worried all ready! This could end in tears!

Wish us luck!

Good Luck!!

I had the same talk with FH and we both just kept our heads and he agreed that I could have most things my way he figues it is better than having to do the organising himself!

I pretty much showed FH the worst case scenario cost wise and then showed him the very least I was willing to have and so he was relieved that I wasn't dreaming about the mega wedding (ours is about $4000). Occasionally he tries to cut a corner but I just remind him what a cheap wedding we are already having. He occasionally puts in his thoughts or ideas but pretty much just leaves it to me.
So my tip is always show him worst case scenario first hahaha

Well didn't end up happening last night! I had to rush down to work and by the time I got home, really wasn't in a friendly mood to talk about it! lol. Hopefully we can tomorrow night.

My FH and I decided we wanted to do something different from what everyone we knew had done, so we looked at venues out of Sydney. I found the perfect venue for us at Lake Macquarie for Dec 08. Well...the price of everything is half if not less and this was not what we were expecting at all, eg; photographers, chair cover hire, etc.

I think its a really good idea. If you can figure out what each of you really, really wants you'll be ok.

Just remeber when youa re budgeting to factor in birthdays etc and having a "week off" from saving.

When we did our budget I did not include any of my December pay at all as I wanted to spend it all on xmas/new year and it was lucky I did because everyone descended upon us due to the heatwave (We live 1 street from the beach) and we ended up having a lot more BBQ's and socialising than we had planned.
