Question. .

Hi Girls. .

This is going to sound so stupid LoL to some. . .but I wanted to see what your opinions were...

Terry & I never wanted an engagement party... We just. . well couldn't be bothered most of all. ..

My thing is. . I just asked him then if once we move we should try & Have one? whether we should bother .. were still not really keen on it ..

Question is. . How many parties to people have b4 they actually get married? I hear of all these bridal showers & E Parties, High Tea's Etc. .

Main reason I didn't(as him) want an E-Party is....we figure people bring stuff to your wedding as a present, and already we want to write and tell people not too. .
I don't want any other showers, tea's etc, cause I would feel like I'm almost "rorting the system" In getting a whole bunch of crap???

Can you have an E-Party with it not really being an e-party ? or if we did have one, can i tell people not to bother bringing sh!t?
LoL

Sorry, prob sounds confusing... i know what i mean in my head! hahah

My Mood:
We didn't want an E party as It feels like we are mostly having it for everyone else to enjoy. So we are having a casual bbq dinner at a church hall so as it doesn't go too long. Hardly anyone is bringing presents, just the old fogies in the family that can't get past tradition. And also those who are just so thrilled for us that they "had" to buy us something... Our E party is 3 months after he proposed.

I didn't want an engagement party but my Mum almost forced us to have one. I wish we didn't I have mostly bad feelings associated with it.

I would invite people for a bbq to celebrate your engagement and just put on the inviations no presents. Make it really casual and relaxed ;)

Save your money for the wedding. Engagement party is good but only if you want it if you don't want to do it there are no rules. We never had one and we eloped and still haven't had any sort of celebration party. Quite frankly I can't be bothered. We don't need money or any sorts of presants so I don't see the point personally.

I sorta feel e parties people have for newly engaged and...people who have been together for a shorter period of time .. (prob stupid thinking)
After 6 yrs and 3 kids(almost 3) we don't think it's necessary? lol

I missed your first post chick, sorry! & how you wrote it is EXACTLY how we feel LoL

Oh im so glad someone feels exactly the same haha.
I said to Terry, why spend so much money on getting a big bash together just b4 the wedding, it'd be nicer to spend it on the actual day! Oh you're soooo right chicky!!

My Mood:
wishing wells are a good idea if you already have everything. That way you can put the money to some real use.
