Err? Stems or No Stems???

I am having a pink oriental lillies and white gerbras posy for my flowers and the BM's are having white gerbras posy for theirs... i'm trying to decided wether or not to have the stems on the flowers or use those white plastic things they use to hold the flowers.

I think that in photos etc and just in general having the stems on them will look nicer then the girls just holding the plastic things. Also because they are gerbra posys i think it will look strange with no stems... The florist wants me to use the plastic things but.

Now my wedding is 1st November in QLD so it could well be a hot day and the ceremony is in a garden.

What are everyones opinions? Would you use the plastic things or leave the stems on?

My Mood:
I like stems, but check to see if your florist thinks the bouquets will hold up to the heat.

My Mood:
Stems look better but like Blossy said, depends on the heat - they may need the foam in the holder to keep them from withering!!!

And with the plastic thingys - you can have them wrapped in ribbon like you would have stems wrapped, so they could still look good!!!

thats what i'm thinking because they are gerbras with the girls holding them they will die...

will call her and have a chat anyway the other option i guess is to have the girls have white lillies and i just have all pink lillies but then i don't know what the boys would have for their buttons holes or maybe we could leave them with the mini gerbras as some of the girls maybe have flowers in their hair yet which will be gerbras then??

i like the stem look but the gerbs might get a bit flimsy and break if there not wired and put in a holder i would go for the holder and get some nice ribbon to wrap around it if you dont like the look of the white ask your florist too wrap the holder in green parafilm so it looks more natural:)
