This has been done before, but there are so many newbies, i thought it would be fun to do again! How did he do it? Did you know he was going to? Did he buy you a ring or did u choose it together? Show us a pic of your ring too!!

The proposal wasn't the typical romantic story but here it is.
We have been together for 8 1/2 years, DF was willing to get married earlier in our relationship to make me happy but it wasn't something he felt was necessary. So I didn't want to do it in those circumstances.
He was talking a few weeks ago about how his feelings had changed about marriage. Then our kids asked me when are you and dad getting married?, I said ask your father.
The following night the kids asked him, he turned to me and said...will you marry me?
Not romantic, but sincere and our kids were there to witness it another YAY.
So there is my engagement story.

iwell you have all already seen my ring. My story though is on its way. Ok so fh had gone to the shops to get a few groceries. When he got back he asked me if i wanted some ice cream. I said of course. So i wait in the lounge room and half an hour goes by. So i yelled out to him 'so where is my ice cream.' he said his coming so i keep waiting next minute he walks out with a plate. I laughed and said to him why didnt you put it in a bowl and then he put it down to eye level got down on one knee and said will you marry me the plate had chocolate had cream on it with chocolate sauce saying 'marry me?' ill upload the picture later its on my face book. The funny thing is that it looked awful. He said he put the ice cream on the plate but underestimated how long it would take to write marry me with the ice magic. It was pretty neat though since we had been together for so long the shocking thing was that he had a ring when he got down on his knee that is both beautiful and fits me.

ok mine was sooo not romantic!

we were sitting around on our computers and I was bored so I was googling! lol I googled wedding and turned to DH and said "hey we should get married" he was nervous could tell so I laughed and left it. But over the next 2 weeks we kept talking and we decided to get married. I guess it's not a proposal, more of a mutual agreement. lol

We went shopping for rings about 6 months later and found the perfect ring and when we picked it up he proposed in the car in the middle of Westfield Bondi Junctions carpark! So romantic lol.

ok well you've kinda seen a pic of my ring - will try to take a better one at some point.
My story: -
Fh moved in with my last march partly to be closer to uni and partly because he'd practically been living with me any way, he'd just go home every couple of days to get more clothes - then one night we'd stayed up really late talking about all sorts of stuff and generally snuggling etc, then when i was just about to go to sleep he said "will you marry me?" me half choked with happy tears said "you serious?" (mainly coz i'd talked about how much i wanted to but had been able to tell he wasn't ready yet) and he said "yes" and i said "yes" - this was in april - we had to wait til june for our anniversary and i thought hey i'm a modern girl - went and got him a ring and on the night of our anniversary after being out to sovereign hill and having a yummy dinner at the restaurant at the hotel we were staying at, when we got back to our room i pulled out the ring box and said "david, will you marry me?" he said "yes" and was surprised that i'd gotten a ring - mainly because we'd talked about how i wanted to ask my dad - which couldn't happen until early july - so when we went down for my dads birthday fh asked him his permission and my dad basically said does she know? and dave said yes and dad went well she obviously wants to marry you so yes.

I had no idea it was coming AT ALL!! I thought he might propose in Hawaii, well, he knew that so he decided to really surprise me.

We had his family BBQ on the Sunday by the banks of the Yarra River, it had been organised for a while (I knew) and was a good chance for all his family to catch up and have a nice day out. Well, about 1:15ish he stood behind me, Faye (his mum) on the other side of me, they wanted to make a speech.

So Steve thanks Gayle (devil spawn/his sister) and then goes on to say that we have been together for 6 years now. At this point he moves in front of me, grabs my hand and stands me up.

He then gets down on one knee, opens the ring box (which I had not noticed all day) and asks me to marry him.. I was totaly shocked (as pic can show) and started crying.

He then says, look to your left, so I do, and there is my mum and dad! He had organised them to be there too, my dad has the whole proposal on film

So yeah, I cried a lot more, hugged a lot more..

It was the best day of my life and I will never forget it
