Starting to think a short stay apartment may be the way to go. There are some pretty good ones close to cafes, shops etc. There are a few for around the $150 plus mark per night. It would allow plenty of room for us to make the bouquets the night before and to get ready the next day. If I go this way I will just have to make sure I get help to tidy before we leave to the ceremony. Would awful to come back on our wedding night to a mess ha ha. Now to convince FH.

Sideways Sally, thanks for that information. Are the same hotels in it every year? Do you have to pay a deposit when you book?

Not sure if i may be a little off topic here, sorry if i am..

I was actually very lazy in booking our hotel and I booked it the night before our wedding.. lol.. Mind you I was able to get a very good last minute deal at a 5 star hotel.. lol..

Anyways, I had a bag packed for hubby and me and on the morning of our wedding, my Brother Inlaw put it in the back of his car which was going to be at our wedding. My sister had organised for a limo to pick us up from our reception and take us back to oyur hotel (which had 24hr reception) and my Bro Inlaw just gave the bag to our limo driver when he turned up..

So that may be another idea, if you know someone who is driving to your wedding - you might be able to give them a pre-packed bag with things and take it with you at the end of the night...

Sorry again, if I have just gone completely off topic.. lol

OK here's an update.
The wedding reception place is yet to confirm our booking but have let us know that the date is free so fingers crossed we will get confirmation soon. How is this relevent you may ask??
Well I just found a short stay serviced apartment place which has lots of the things I want for around $180 a night. A little more than I wanted BUT it is next door to our desired reception place. Literally next door.
So no extra taxis or hire cars. Easy access to transport centrepieces, the cake and all the little bits for the reception. So keep your other fingers crossed as I have just emailed them a date availability check and rate confirmation. Now to get everything to fall into place...holding my breath and crossing everything

So the hotel place got back today (the one next door to the reception place).
There is a room available YAY.
However their current rates for a 1 bedroom is $199 per night and will more than likely go up soon. They haven't said when or how much by. It's a little more than I was originally thinking. It is a serviced apartment and has it's own kitchen, mini laundry, share spa/pool etc. What do you guys think?? Is this a good price or am I just keen on location ha ha.
There is another place one street back. It is a little 2 bedroom executive apartment. Not serviced, no pool, no spa. It says children are not allowed, would that mean during the days too or overnight only?? That place is $510 for the same 3 nights.
It will be a little harder to access the reception place as the streets are one ways.
I could stay elsewhere for $450-$500 but will need taxis or hire cars to get around on the big day.
Advice and opinions would be appreciated :-)
