video, accommodation and more...

Hi guys, I have been reading up on everyones plans so far and it all sounds so good! I need a little advice on a couple of things. What are your thoughts on having a video done for your wedding? I did get a quote and it came to $1990 for; before the ceremony, ceremony, 1 hour at photo time, 2 hours of reception + 5 DVD's. There is no traveling involved between places because it is all in the one place. Is this way too expensive?

Accommodation: My FH and I have decided to pay for the accommodation for our families only. Do you think it is ok to put his mum, dad, sister, brother and their partners in one 3 bedroom cottage that has only 1 double bed (the rest are single beds)?

Now for something I am sure about haha.. I orderd my wedding cake on Saturday. They are from a very cute shop called, The cup cake room. They are going to create cupcakes the same colour as my bridesmaids flowers. Soo excited.

don't apologise we all love reading details. I never had video so i can't say. a 3 bedroom cottage on you sounds fine. Show us a pic of you cake if you can.

The cupcakes are a cool idea.
The 3 bedroom cottage - Does FH think that the siblings and their partners will mind sleeping in separate single beds? If yes than all should be great. They should appreciate your outlay on accommodation at such an expensive time anyway.
The videographer I can't help with as I don't think I will be getting video footage done, if I do it will be done by family anyway.

i paid that much for a video but they did 12 hours work and stayed till the end of the reception. that price also included editing into highlights dvd and a ceremony dvd. we got 3 dvds and 1 vid. so it sounds ok to me...but i would want them the whole reception...my fave bit is watching all the dancing n stuff!
oh and i DEFINITELY recommend getting a video...i love mine!
