How we met ...
We met through a friend I went to school with, who ended up working with Brad. Brad invited her to his birthday party and I tagged along. Brad hardly said 5 words to me the whole night and even forgot my name when introducing me to his friends. It wasn't until I was leaving that Brad wanted to talk to me.
The next night I received a text message from Brad and we ended up spending half the night texting each other. We went on our first date the next weekend and started officially dating a month after we first met.
The Proposal
It was Christmas Eve 2006, Brad took me to this house near his parent's house that is all done up with lights. When we got back to the car, Brad said he has a surprise for me but I had to be blindfolded. So we got in the car, he blindfolded me then he started driving telling me that the surprise is too big to keep at his mum and dad's house and that it was at his friend's house.
So I started asking 20 questions e.g.do I know this friend? are they going to be there? how big is it? And of course it being a surprise he didn't give me anything to go on. Because I couldn't see where I was going it felt like he was driving around in circles, but finally we stopped. I got out of the car and Brad walked me up to wherever we were going, I could hear a fountain and see little lights and then I stopped. As Brad was taking off my blindfold he started to tell me how much he loved me, how much he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me, when I opened my eyes and could see, Brad was standing in front of me with a ring asking me to marry him. And like they say the rest is history, I wouldn't be writing this wedding diary if I didn't say YES.
